MSUFCU Supports Child and Family Charities' COVID-19 Relief Fund
During these difficult times Child and Family Charities (CFC) is combating the challenges of the coronavirus outbreak. CFC has continued to serve our community through a variety of programs.
Child and Family Charities aims to strengthen and support children, families, and individuals as they evolve and grow in a changing community. Their residential programs include Angel House, a therapeutic mother/baby residential program, and Kevin J. Moody Youth Home. CFC also operates a foster care and adoption program, Teen Court, Behavior Health Services, and the mid-Michigan Trauma Collaborative, which have all continued to operate and serve the most vulnerable in our community.
Due to the pandemic, costs of operating have increased daily. Child and Family Charities created a COVID-19 Relief Fund to assist with supporting increased agency needs including adding staff, program supplies, personal protective equipment, and the basic needs such as food, rent, and household goods for their increasing number of clients.
“With the support of our corporate partners, Child and Family Charities continues to provide critical services, including mental health and substance abuse treatment, residential services, food and basic need deliveries, as well as street outreach efforts. MSUFCU consistently demonstrates their deep-rooted commitment to the communities they serve,” said Child and Family Charities CEO, Julie Thomasma. “Their strong support during this time gives us the resources to reach those who need us most.”
