The Desk Drawer Fund is proud to support Michigan Women Forward, through the Fostering Entrepreneurialism philanthropic pillar. The Fostering Entrepreneurialism pillar empowers and educates entrepreneurs to develop skills and explore programs in our communities.

Michigan Women Forward, a nonprofit, strives for the recognition of female leaders who thrive, contribute, and uplift Michigan’s future. Founded in 1986, it was the first public, statewide foundation created to educate women on economic and personal empowerment. Their mission statement is, “to accelerate Michigan’s progress by advancing equality and opportunity for women and girls.” UGO STEMGirls, a program for middle school girls interested in STEM professions, and Enough SAID, a fundraiser to help the backlogging of Michigan prosecution cases handling assault against women, are some of the many important issues that Michigan Women Forward addresses.

Peg Tallet, COO of Michigan Women Forward, said that the foundation is grateful for Desk Drawer Fund’s support and, “look forward to successful, impactful partnership in achieving our mutual goals of empowering youth, financial education and accelerating entrepreneurship for the women and girls of Michigan.”
