“I remember my wide-eyed fascination with dinosaurs and fossils as a child, and I love seeing the same enthusiasm in children at the event. The MSU Museum stands as an incredible and free resource for community members to learn and explore; I'm happy to participate in these events where we can bring awareness to what the museum offers. ”— Meagan, MSUFCU employee and volunteer

MSUFCU is a proud supporter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Light the Night Walk. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is a non-profit organization that advocates for lifesaving treatments, provides patient support services, and invests into research. Light the Night Walk brings communities together by celebrating the survivors, fighters, and the ones who have lost their battle.

Leukemia is a cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow. Treatment can vary from monitoring the cancer, to radiation, and stem-cell transplants. Lymphoma is cancer of the lymphatic system, which fights the body’s diseases. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world’s largest voluntary health organization that works to fight blood cancer.

In August, the Credit Union joined the Holt community and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for a Light the Night Walk. Each year there are over 140 walks all over the US and Canada. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has raised over 1.2 billion dollars for research to succeed in having a world without blood cancer.

There are monthly support group meetings in Greater Lansing for all blood cancers, the location and times can be found here, along with more information on upcoming walks and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
