MSUFCU is the Official Credit Union for Oakland University
We are excited to announce that the Credit Union is now, once again, the official credit union for Oakland University (OU)!
Our partnership with OU started back in the late 1950s after Alfred and Matilda Wilson donated $2 million and their 1,500-acre estate to Michigan State University (MSU) to start a new college in Oakland County. MSUFCU became the financial institution that provided financial services to university employees and continued to serve to the OU community after Oakland University became its own entity from MSU.
“At MSUFCU it’s our mission to provide superior service while assisting members and employees to achieve financial security, their goals, and ultimately, their dreams. This new opportunity will allow us to continue our mission at Oakland University Credit Union, and provide the OU students, faculty, and community with the right tools and resources to help them achieve those financial goals,” said Patrick McPharlin, MSUFCU President and CEO.
Through our enhanced partnership with OU, MSUFCU will establish an Oakland University Credit Union (OUCU) trade name identity for the financial services at OU. The Credit Union’s commitment to OU will help support:
- a $25,000 endowed student scholarship
- a $25,000 Dean’s Choice Grant Program
- a variety of signature sponsorships
- in-kind marketing
- ATM locations on campus
- an operating branch in the Oakland Center
- financial education
- and, more!
On January 6, 2014, we will officially be open on Oakland University’s campus as OUCU, and look forward to the opportunity to serve the OU community!
“The credit union’s commitment to Oakland – and particularly to its students – is outstanding and we look forward to a long continuing relationship,” said John Young, Oakland University Assistant Vice President for Communication and Marketing.
