MSUFCU Offers Financial 4.0 Virtual Sessions for MSU Students
Financial literacy for students has been a major focal point for MSUFCU’s Financial Education Department. Between visiting classrooms, afterschool events, and campuses in the area, the team is involved all around our community. Every fall and spring semester Financial 4.0 sessions have been held on MSU’s campus for the past six years.
As universities transitioned to online classes earlier this year, MSUFCU followed suit by creating weekly virtual Financial 4.0 sessions to conclude the spring semester. In partnership with MSU’s HDFS Department and Online Engagement Center, there were over 1,400 views during the five sessions presented via Facebook Live.
The sessions covered credit education, preparing for life after college, and investing basics. Also included were specifics on how to budget with the current economic changes and how to protect yourself from COVID-19 related scams.
Although sessions have only been offered during spring and fall semesters previously, we are excited to partner with MSU to extend sessions into the summer semesters as additional support for students during this unique time. If you have a college-aged student, encouraging them to attend the online sessions on Facebook (@Financial40) is a great way to help them learn better money management skills and keep them thinking about their financial future.
