“It was so fun to see the look in the RDC employees' eyes when we showed up with all of the winter gear. They were surprised by how much we brought and so thankful to be able to help more refugee families by providing them coats, hats, and gloves during the winter months. It was a great feeling to know that more people could stay warm this year because of the RDC.”— Julia, Credit Union employee

On Monday, December 4, 2017, the Credit Union welcomed legendary jazz drummer, Harvey Mason as the second performer of the 2017–2018 edition of the Blue Mondays concert series. Mason performed an evening of rhythmic and melodious jazz music for community members and employees.

Blue Mondays is a jazz concert series that brings world-renowned jazz musicians to the MSUFCU Headquarters, where performances take place throughout the year. Blue Mondays is made possible by the MSU Federal Credit Union Jazz Artist in Residence Endowment. This endowment program serves as a means to support and enrich local music education programs. During his residency, Mason will teach MSU jazz students, present master classes, and perform for the public.

Mason has worked with icons such as James Brown, Frank Sinatra, Herbie Hancock, and John Legend. Throughout his career, he has been awarded with four different first place plaques from Modern Drummer magazine. He is equally known as an exceptional producer and is credited for introducing the world to the Hawaii-based Christian jazz septets, Seawind.
