Join us for Blue Mondays featuring Jazz Artists in Residence

The Credit Union is proud to present, in collaboration with the MSU College of Music, the return of Blue Mondays. Blue Mondays is a jazz concert series made possible by the MSU Federal Credit Union Jazz Artist in Residence Endowment. The series brings world-renowned jazz musicians to the MSUFCU Headquarters, where performances take place throughout the year. Blue Mondays kicks off on Monday, October 9, 2017, with a performance by trumpeter Michael Philip Mossman.

Mossman began his international career at the age of 17, collaborating to perform and record with his own groups and renowned bands. Throughout his career, he has performed as lead trumpeter with legendary jazz bands such as Machito Orchestra, Toshiko Akiyoshi, and with the Lionel Hampton Orchestra. Mossman is known as a key performer in Latin Jazz and has been recognized for his Grammy-winning albums, “Song for Chico,” “Un Noche Inolvidable,” and “40 Acres and a Burro.” Currently, he is lead trumpeter with Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra. Mossman will also perform at MSU Auditorium’s Fairchild Theater on Friday, October 13, 2017.


The series will continue with performances by other artists such as Harvey Mason, Helen Sung, and Steve Wilson.
