“I am just so grateful to be able to visit Sexton High School and offer this amazing experience to kids that may never be able to learn about budgets until itâs too late! As a graduate of the Lansing Schools, I take pride in giving back in hopes that they will take what they learned to help each of them in the future!”— Cecilia, an MSUFCU employee

MSUFCU Builds a Playground for Angel House

The Credit Union is proud to have assisted Child and Family Charities’ Angel House in building a playground. Angel House is a therapeutic residential program for pregnant and mothering teenagers in foster care and their children. Founded in 2006, the program supports the mothers transitioning from cycles of abuse or neglect to independent living, as well as nurtures the growing families in mid-Michigan.

On June 18, 2019, nine MSUFCU employees helped build and assemble the playground equipment alongside workers at the organization. For one MSUFCU volunteer, Cristina, the event was very emotional and rewarding. She said, “Angel House was once my home, when I didn’t have anywhere else to go. [Angel House] gave me and my sisters a peace of mind; we had a safe and protected place surrounded by amazing people… It was an honor to help build the playground for the little ones.”

The Credit Union and its employees are proud to partner with Angel House in their efforts to support and nurture teen mothers and their children in foster care. MSUFCU is also pleased to partner with Child and Family Charities as one of our 2019 charity partners.
