“We want everyone to understand their finances and be self-sufficient in those processes, and while we can provide that education in-person, you can now learn at your own pace. It is important because managing money can sometimes seem overwhelming. Through Financial 4.0, we try to present personal finances in a fun, easy, and very digestible way.”— Paul, Financial Educator

MSU Federal Credit Union was pleased to be a title sponsor for Small Talk’s 6th Annual Auction for Advocacy: A Night to End Child Abuse on Thursday, September 12, 2019. As title sponsor, MSUFCU had the pleasure of hosting nearly 300 attendees at the Credit Union’s Headquarters Building.

Attendees enjoyed a strolling dinner comprised of food stations from Tabooli Mediterranean, Eastside Fish Fry, Quality Dairy, Red Lobster, Morton’s Fine Catering, Grand Traverse Pie Company, Bake N’ Cakes, Biggby Coffee, Sam’s Club, and Art’s Pub. Funds were raised through the silent and live auction of 200 items. Auction items included raffle baskets, sporting event tickets, vacation packages, various handcrafted items, and much more!

17 MSUFCU employees also volunteered to assist with event set-up during the day, and monitored auction tables, escorted VIP attendees, and stocked food stations during the event.

“I have worked this event the last 3 years and I just love what they are doing at Small Talk. It’s inspirational to see the guest speakers they have every year and hear their stories,” said Zak Parker, an MSUFCU employee and Small Talk Auction volunteer.

Thanks to local community leaders and contributors, Small Talk’s Annual Auction raised over $100,000!
