Cooley Law School Stadium was filled with hundreds of eager children on May 31 for the 2014 Sparrow Michigan Mile and KIDSPRINT. The day started with a mile race for ages 13 and younger, followed by a shorter run for ages 6 years and younger.

MSUFCU was pleased to be a part of this annual race to help promote a healthy lifestyle for kids in our area.

“It was exciting to see so many children at an event that encourages physical activity,” said Sarah Bohan, Vice President of Corporate Relations. “Both of my kids participated this year and had a great time!”

Bohan, along with other MSUFCU employees, were just a few of the many volunteers who came out to cheer on the kids and pass out medals at the end. Each child that participated in one of the races received a free t-shirt and gold medal.

Making healthier lifestyle choices is a big focus at MSUFCU—through their CU Healthy initiative—and many employees have incorporated this into their daily lives. The Credit Union has partnered with Sparrow to share different tips on this lifestyle and hold various competitions through their Be Well at Work portal. Employees are also offered free admission to races and incentives based on the amount of activity they perform each quarter.
