More Than $1 Million Raised Through Sparrow Telethon
We were excited to team up with Sparrow Hospital again this year for the 26th annual Children’s Miracle Network Telethon (CMN). The CMN Telethon helps to raise money each year for the Sparrow Children’s Center, a playroom used to comfort children through play, education, and emotional support as they recover from sickness or injury.
The outpouring support from individual donations to organization and corporate donations was astonishing this year as Sparrow Hospital surpassed the 2013 telethon numbers, raising more than $1 million!
The telethon took place on Friday, May 30 and Saturday, May 31, 2014, in the Sparrow Professional Building, and during airtime on WILX TV-10, community members had the opportunity to call in and speak to volunteers to make a donation.
“The Credit Union is a big supporter of Sparrow Hospital and their initiatives. We were pleased to donate $30,150 to the telethon, and our employees also got involved by donating their time to the final two hours of the telethon to take calls,” said Patrick McPharlin, MSUFCU’s President/CEO.
Over the past 25 years, more than $20 million dollars have been raised to help our local community in building and strengthening the programs and facilities that give young patients the best possible care.
