“I've worked Dino Dash for a few years now, and it's always an enjoyable event. Kids seem to have fun interacting with us and being on MSU's campus. There's always a high energy level and excitement before the race begins, and I'm happy to be a part of it.”— Emily, an MSUFCU employee

The Credit Union is proud to sponsor the Mini Maker Foundation as they present the first ever Lansing Maker Faire. Lansing Maker Faire will take place at the Meridian Mall in Okemos on Saturday, April 29, and Sunday, April 30, 2017. The faire serves as a family-friendly venue for creative geniuses to showcase their experiments and projects. Participants of all ages have a chance to “show and tell” their hobbies and to learn more about engineering, crafting, and art.

The Mini Maker Foundation is an Eaton Rapids based organization focused on sparking curiosity and creativity in children. The foundation helps create opportunities for school-aged children to explore fields within Science, Technology, Engineering, Art/Design, and Math (STEAM). By providing schools with equipment such as 3D printers, they help engage students in STEAM activities at an early age. From “Mrkt Prototype Development” to “Take Apart Discovery,” they offer a variety of workshops designed to invest in the future generation of innovators.

STEAM industries have maintained substantial growth throughout the past 50 years. By helping educate some of the youngest community members about developing technology, we can help create the problem solvers of tomorrow. The Credit Union believes in encouraging, embracing, and driving change. We actively engage in discussing new ideas and support choices to improve and continue progress. By sponsoring events such as Lansing Maker Faire, we hope to inspire community members to also drive and embrace innovation.
