Visit the Peckham Art From the Heart Exhibit
MSUFCU is pleased to showcase artwork created through the 2014 Peckham Art from the Heart program. Through our partnership with Peckham Community Partnership Foundation for the Art from the Heart program, we help to make a positive impact on our community by sharing the accomplishments of these individuals participating in Peckham’s community rehabilitation and human services program. Members and the community are welcome to visit MSUFCU's headquarters during normal business hours to view the artwork, which will be on display beginning Tuesday, March 11 through April 10, 2014, and will feature contemporary and traditional art.
The Art from the Heart program’s goal is to provide professional and individualized instruction in the visual arts to people with significant disabilities and other barriers to employment. The featured artists are members of Peckham’s dynamic staff, made up of individuals that face physical, cognitive, behavioral and socio-economic challenges. The featured artists will have the opportunity to display their pieces as an exhibition of the new skills and abilities learned during their visual arts instruction through the program. The art works may be purchased through the close of the exhibition.
“This partnership allows us to provide a space for these talented artists to share their artwork, and we are pleased to celebrate Peckham’s Art from the Heart program,” said Patrick McPharlin, MSUFCU President and CEO.
Art from the Heart is funded by the Peckham Community Partnership Foundation. The Foundation is committed to services that help Peckham fulfill its mission, and supporting the initiatives and programs that can make a difference in the lives of those striving for independence. Peckham is a nonprofit community vocational rehabilitation organization that values quality, diversity, and performance. MSUFCU helps support Peckham's programs via financial education and its involvements in events such as Art from the Heart.
