“I remember my wide-eyed fascination with dinosaurs and fossils as a child, and I love seeing the same enthusiasm in children at the event. The MSU Museum stands as an incredible and free resource for community members to learn and explore; I'm happy to participate in these events where we can bring awareness to what the museum offers. ”— Meagan, MSUFCU employee and volunteer

MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) is pleased to share that employees were able to raise $44,627.27 in Q1, giving each organization $11,156.93! Each year, employees select charity partners to support and raise funds for. This year’s charities are: Capital Area United Way and Helping Women Period, both in Lansing; HQ Runaway and Homeless Youth Drop-In Center in Kent County; and Oakland County Animal Shelter.

In addition to raising funds, employees have organized donation drives collecting menstrual products benefiting helping women period and clothing drives for HQ Runaway and Homeless Youth Drop-In Center. Giving back to the community is a core value at MSUFCU and employees go above and beyond to donate their time to raising awareness and volunteering.

Throughout the remainder of the year, MSUFCU employees will continue to organize fundraisers, hold supply drives and more to support the selected charity partners. Donations are dispersed equally amongst the four organizations. To learn more about MSUFCU’s 2020 charity partners click here.
