“Participating in the RivALZ game is a great opportunity to raise awareness and money for a worthy cause while getting the chance to beat up on that other school. The competitive energy creates a fun environment and incentive to out play and out fundraise the other team, while in the end, we’re all working toward the same goal.”— Chad, Credit Union employee

For the second year, MSUFCU employees participated in the annual Michigan State – Michigan RivALZ Flag Football game. Two teams of women divide, reflecting the familiar Michigan State – Michigan rivalry, and compete in the game hoping to inspire fundraising, awareness, and action in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. These RivALZ games take place throughout the country, but we were happy to have one supporting our local communities.

The 2017 RivALZ was held in Ann Arbor on April 22, 2017, with four Credit Union employees taking part on the flag football team and as coaches. Our team was able to bring home the trophy this year. Next year’s game will come back home to MSU’s campus.

Leading up to the game, the two teams also compete to see which can raise the most funds for Alzheimer’s research. This year, both teams raised a total of $18,928, including general donations and corporate sponsorships.

“Participating in the RivALZ game is a great opportunity to raise awareness and money for a worthy cause while getting the chance to beat up on that other school,” said Chad, a Credit Union employee who participated in the game. “The competitive energy creates a fun environment and incentive to out play and out fundraise the other team, while in the end, we’re all working toward the same goal.”

MSUFCU is proud to sponsor and participate in RivALZ to bring awareness to and help tackle Alzheimer’s together.
