Raising Funds and Awareness for 2017 Charity Partners
The Credit Union is proud to announce, as of July 31, 2017, employees have raised over $78,000 for our charity partners. As part of a yearlong effort, Credit Union employees have led and engaged in a variety of fundraisers to help support five local charities: Many Hands, Capital Area Humane Society, The Firecracker Foundation, Stiggy’s Dogs, and Capital Area United Way. We are pleased to play an active role in giving back to multiple organizations throughout the community. The funds raised will be aggregated and donated evenly amongst our charity partners in December.
As an organization we are committed to fulfilling the credit union philosophy of “people helping people.” Between January and June, employees have organized fundraisers, volunteered their time, and donated funds to our five charity partners. These efforts ranged from organizing a supply drive and packing nearly 500 weekend survival kits for Many Hands, to covering pet adoption fees and walking dogs from the Capital Area Humane Society. In total, employees logged more than 780 internal volunteer hours and 860 personal volunteer hours.
“I love volunteering in the different communities the Credit Union serves,” said Chelsea, a Credit Union employee and volunteer. “Knowing that we are helping our charity partners grow and make difference in the lives of community members makes the experience worthwhile.”
Through sponsorship and volunteerism, we help support a variety of organizations and connect the community with resources. In doing so, we help provide community members with the tools to build and achieve their dreams. To learn more about our 2017 charity partners please click here.
