Employees Help Local Kids Through the Help A Willing Kid (H.A.W.K.) Foundation
MSUFCU is proud to partner with the Help a Willing Kid Foundation (H.A.W.K.) to raise money to support kids in our local community. H.A.W.K. is a local charity which provides a safe place for youth with unstable home lives to go to before and after school where they can relax and do homework, workout, and see familiar faces that care.
The goal of these services is to help children grow to be positive adults who are able to achieve their goals regardless of their circumstances.
Throughout the year, MSUFCU employees participated in a variety of fundraising activities to raise money for over 50 kids who go to H.A.W.K. each day. Fundraising efforts included events such as food drives, cookouts, raffles, bowling nights, and other activities to encourage as much employee participation as possible.
MSUFCU employees came together and raised $33,938 for H.A.W.K. All proceeds going to the H.A.W.K. Foundation helped to install a new washer and dryer, renovate their library, provide more computer resources, and update the dorm room facility and emergency housing rooms.
Coach Ali Easley, H.A.W.K. Foundation President, commented, “We are just so grateful, with the funds and products donated we were able to triple the number of kids we serve each day, and are now able to help anywhere from 30-60 kids every day.”
