“It is exciting to support a program that allows local children in our community to work closely with college-aged students. These children are being exposed to experiences that show the opportunity they will have through continuing their education.”— April Clobes, MSUFCU President and CEO

Wilson is an internationally recognized saxophonist from Hampton, Virginia. His love of music was apparent from a young age. Wilson played oboe and drums in his school band, while making time to perform in a variety of funk and R&B bands during his teens. After high school, he spent a year performing with Grammy award-winning singer and songwriter, Stephanie Mills. Wilson went on to perfect his craft at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. He studied and performed with icons such as Jimmy Percy Heath, Jon Hendricks, and Frank Foster. Over the years, Wilson has brought his distinctive sound to more that 150 recordings led by celebrated artists.

Blue Mondays is a jazz concert series made possible by the MSU Federal Credit Union Jazz Artist in Residence Endowment. The series brings world renowned jazz musicians to MSUFCU Headquarters, where performances take place throughout the year.
