MSUFCU Named a Fit-Friendly Company
MSU Federal Credit Union was recently recognized as a Gold-Level Fit-Friendly Company by the American Heart Association (AHA). The AHA recognizes Fit-Friendly Companies as employers who go above and beyond when it comes to their employee’s health. MSUFCU was awarded this honor for showing a commitment to providing physical activity and wellness opportunities to its staff.
MSUFCU offers a variety of programs and resources to help its staff develop and maintain healthier lifestyles. Ongoing exercise "challenges" allow staff to win prizes for walking, running, or biking set distances, and employees easily track their progress using a tool on MSUFCU’s intranet. Physical activity is further supported with exercise classes, free pedometers, and walking trails and an on-site employee gym at MSUFCU’s headquarters.
Patrick McPharlin, MSUFCU’s President and Chief Executive Officer, stated, "At MSUFCU, we invest in our staff to benefit not only our employees but also our members and the Credit Union as a whole. Worksite wellness programs can help increase productivity and morale as well as reduce healthcare costs and employee absenteeism and turnover. We’re proud to provide so many wellness opportunities for our staff, and it is an honor to be recognized by the AHA as a Fit-Friendly Company."
MSU Federal Credit Union, the world’s largest university-based credit union, serves Michigan State University and Oakland University faculty, staff, students, alumni association members and their families worldwide and offers a full range of personal and business related financial services.
