MSUFCU Recognized by Visa for Innovative Use of Its Products Credit Union Wins Overall Portfolio Excellence in Visa DPS Client Achievement Awards
EAST LANSING, Mich. — MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) is honored to announce that the Visa Debit Processing Services (DPS) Client Achievement Awards recognized the organization for its collaboration and implementation of innovative Visa services for members, winning the Overall Portfolio Excellence category in the client showcase.
MSUFCU partnered with Visa DPS to add protection and convenience to its suite of fraud monitoring services with Visa Card Lock and Mobile Location Confirmation. Visa Card Lock allows members to lock or unlock their cards from their online accounts. This offers members control over their cards and additional account safety, as they can lock their cards to prevent fraudulent purchases and easily unlock cards when they are ready to use them again. Mobile Location Confirmation compares the location of members’ mobile devices to the location of transactions made with their Visa Debit and Credit Cards. By enrolling in this service, members share their mobile devices’ locations with MSUFCU and Visa so that it can be factored into Visa’s transaction approval process and potentially decline transactions made in a location that differs from where the devices are.
“We have a highly mobile membership. Knowing the lifestyles of our members, we wanted to offer a service that gave them more control, with minimal disruption,” said Nicole Dilts, MSUFCU’s Assistant Vice President of Payment Systems. “These new features work to our members’ advantages, providing them convenience, simplicity, and confidence that their accounts are protected.”
MSUFCU has a national reputation for excellence and has received several top industry and workplace awards. For the sixth year in a row, MSUFCU was named as a Top Workplace in the large employer category by the Detroit Free Press. Last year, it was also recognized as one of CU Journal’s Best Credit Unions to Work For, a Best Workplace for Women by Fortune Magazine, and Outstanding Credit Union of the Year by the Michigan Credit Union League. MSUFCU has also been nationally recognized for its financial education initiatives, ranking first in Michigan and second in the nation for the 2017 Alphonse Desjardins Adult Financial Education award by the Credit Union National Association. Founded in 1937, MSUFCU has 18 branches, over 250,000 members, nearly $4 billion in assets, and 850 employees.
