MSUFCU Employees Donate More Than $49,000 to Charity Partners in Third Quarter of 2019
EAST LANSING, Mich. — Hosting fun events, including a golf scramble, ice cream sandwich sale, and dress down days, MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) employees raised $49,406 for charity partners in the third quarter of 2019. The funds were donated to four charities: Child and Family Charities, Be Nice Mental Health Foundation, Hope Against Trafficking, and Capital Area United Way.
“I am proud of our employees’ generosity and dedication to supporting local charities,” said April Clobes, MSUFCU President/CEO. “Throughout the year, they raise funds and volunteer to assist our charity partners, both which play a critical role in serving and strengthening the communities we serve.”
The annual charity campaign begins with employees selecting three charities, along with Capital Area United Way, to support through charitable giving efforts throughout the year. Employees donate funds through special internal events and activities, including T-shirt sales, raffles, bake sales, and more. Money raised each quarter is divided evenly between the four charities and presented to a representative from each. In the third quarter of 2019, each charity received $12,351 due to the efforts of the more than 900 MSUFCU employees.
