EAST LANSING, Mich. — MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) has been awarded the 2019 Top Workplaces honor by The Detroit Free Press. For the seventh consecutive year, the Credit Union has received this award.

“Our organization is focused on creating an inclusive workplace where our employees can come to work as their authentic selves, which enables everyone to achieve their best at work,” said April Clobes, MSUFCU President/CEO. “We strive to provide a robust offering of benefits to create a competitive total compensation package, demonstrating our commitment to our employees’ success.”

The award is based on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by Energage LCC, a leading provider of technology-based employee engagement tools. The anonymous survey measures several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution, and connection.

“The Top Workplaces award is about much more than recognition,” said Eric Rubino, CEO of Energage. “Our research also shows that these organizations achieve higher referral rates, lower employee turnover, and double the employee engagement levels. It just goes to show that being intentional about culture delivers bottom line results.”

“Our culture of inclusion and belonging creates an environment of trust where employees know their feedback is valued and acted upon, resulting in amazing changes that improve processes and the overall environment,” said Silvia Dimma, MSUFCU Chief Human Resource Officer.

MSUFCU has a national reputation for excellence and has received several top industry and workplace awards. The Credit Union was named in the top 100 best workplaces for women by Fortune for the third year, in the top five Michigan credit unions by Forbes Best-in-State Credit Unions, Best Workplace in Financial Services and Insurance by Fortune Magazine, received the ATHENA Award® for Organizational Leadership, and for the fifth year, was named West Michigan Best and Brightest to Work For. MSUFCU was named one of Michigan’s Best and Brightest in Wellness for the fourth consecutive year, has been certified as a Great Place to Work® for six consecutive years, and was named as a Top Workplace in the large employer category by the Detroit Free Press for seven consecutive years. The Credit Union has also been recognized for its financial education initiatives, ranking first for the Alphonse Desjardins Adult and Youth Financial Education Awards, and the Louise Herring Award as well as an honorable mention for the Dora Maxwell Award by the Michigan Credit Union League. Founded in 1937, MSUFCU is headquartered in East Lansing, has 19 branches, more than 286,000 members, $4.6 billion in assets, and more than 900 employees. For more information, visit msufcu.org.
