Battle Creek Public Schools Teacher Receives $500 MIDream Grant
EAST LANSING, Mich. — Battle Creek Public Schools teacher Anthony Pennock has been awarded a $500 MIDream Grant from MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU), in partnership with the Michigan Education Association (MEA).
Pennock will use $250 of the grant for classroom materials and donate $250 to charity.
“The funds will be used to expand my classroom library to be more inclusive and diverse, and to supplement the lack of an available building library in the alternative high school where I teach,” said Pennock.
His charity donation will go to the Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network (GLSEN), an organization that believes every student has the right to safe, supportive, and LGBTQ-inclusive K-12 education. For more information, visit https://www.glsen.org/our-work.
