Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
It is the Credit Union's shared belief that employees should be able to enjoy a workplace free from all forms of discrimination. To support this invaluable work, we added the position of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Director to work alongside the Chief Community Development Officer.

As part of our diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, we offer Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). Founded by and for employees, ERGs provide social events, mentorship relationships, and professional opportunities for employees in all departments. By working alongside Human Resources and our executive team, ERGs aim to create positive change and further supplement our rich and progressive culture.
CU Pride
CU Pride is centered around enabling members of the LGBTQIA+ community to be seen and heard for who they are, both as employees and as members of MSUFCU.

Recently, CU Pride has:

• Introduced pronouns to employee email signatures and intranet profiles
• Donated $500 to Salus Center in honor of Pride Month
• Created an LGBTQIA+ webinar series
• Expanded inclusive language throughout internal and external channels
• Developed a resource list pertaining to the complex intersection of race and sexuality.
African American Employee Resource Group (AAERG)
The African American Employee Resource Group has positively impacted all of us at MSUFCU through:

• Racial justice forums
• A resource list for navigating conversations about race
• A partnership with the CU Book Club to discuss White Fragility by Robin Di'Angelo
• An installation of the Age Alive paper butterfly garden exhibit at our Headquarters
• Support of Lansing's Historical Black Colleges and Universities Tour
CU Parent Support
The CU Parent Support Resource Group offers a community through which current and future parents can find resources, support, and strong relationships.

Recently, CU Parent Support has met virtually to provide each other tips for working parents dealing with online and virtual learning for their children.
LAAERG - Latine Arriba y Adelante
Added in December 2020, the mission of the LAAERG is to allow employees from Hispanic backgrounds to come together to share their experiences with each other and allies. Goals for this group include charitable outreach and education about Hispanic culture to ensure banking needs are being met.
CU Prime
Added in January 2021, this ERG allows employees that are 50 years of age and older to connect. The mission of CU Prime includes education and information sharing on the aging population, advocacy for older members, and helping to bridge technological skill gaps for older employees. Their goals include partnering with the Tri-County Office of Aging to share valuable resources and volunteering at local nursing homes.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council was established in 2020. This internal council offers cross-organizational membership with representation from a diverse range of employees and team members. They provide effective mechanisms for managing and initiating future diversity and inclusion programs within the Credit Union.
