“We are always so appreciative of the support of our sponsors for this event. MSUFCU not only contributes funds, but also contributes our print materials, billboards, hosts a booth for the children with face-painting and balloon animals, etc. The children of our community are able to learn about good health practices and be exposed to health care professionals in a non-threatening environment because of the Teddy Bear Picnic. ”— Barbara Ball-McClure, Teddy Bear Picnic Event Coordinator

Grab your Halloween costume and tennis shoes, and join the Credit Union at the Capital Area Humane Society’s Walk for the Animals. The event will take place on Sunday, October 29, 2017, starting at noon at Cooley Law School Stadium. Participants are invited to bring their leashed dogs and favorite Halloween costumes to the day of festivities, which will begin with a one mile walk. After the walk, there will be an array of activities for participants and their furry friends.

Furry friends have a special place in the hearts of Credit Union employees. After announcing a year-long partnership with Capital Area Humane Society (CAHS) in January 2017, the Credit Union has continued to find ways to support the local organization. Colleen, a Credit Union employee, commented, “I recently had the pleasure of organizing a Credit Union wide supply drive for CAHS. It was wonderful to see the Credit Union come together to collect and donate food, treats, toys, and more! Supporting our local shelters help give rescue pets a second chance.” From holding supply drives to walking dogs on lunch breaks, employees are proud to support this heartwarming cause. As of September 2017, employees have raised more than $22,000 for CAHS.

The Credit Union is proud to support CAHS in its second largest fundraising event of the year. The funds raised by walkers and their team members are instrumental in helping save the lives of homeless and abandoned pets in Mid-Michigan. Last year alone, CAHS helped 3,875 animals find their forever home. Through this ongoing partnership, the Credit Union hopes to help make a difference in the community and help many more pets find loving homes.
