“It was great to work with a large group of student leaders to help prepare them for their next steps. The students asked a lot of really great questions. The workshop was filled with practical information that students are able to immediately apply to their financial habits. Some students were ready to go home and pull their credit report right away”— Ian D., Credit Union Employee

EAST LANSING, Mich. — MSUFCU is pleased to announce that its employees have selected Small Talk Children’s Assessment Center (Small Talk) as their 2016 charity partner. As the charity partner, Small Talk will benefit from MSUFCU employee fundraising and volunteer involvement.

Small Talk is a place where children who are victims of physical and sexual abuse are interviewed and offered therapy at no cost. The mission of Small Talk is to provide a comfortable, child-friendly atmosphere where children receive coordinated services during the child abuse investigative process. Small Talk, accredited with the National Children’s Alliance, is leading the community in addressing child abuse and empowering children to have the courage to heal.

“Small Talk is extremely thankful for the opportunity to partner with the employees of MSUFCU in the fight against child abuse in our community. We stand together in support of these brave children as they speak the truth, receive justice, and begin to heal,” said Annie Harrison, Board President of Small Talk.

“We are inspired by Small Talk’s mission and success, and we are proud to work alongside their organization this year in helping children’s voices be heard,” said April Clobes, MSUFCU’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “Small Talk is one of my heroes because the organization works every day to bring positive outcomes for children during their most difficult time.”

MSU Federal Credit Union, the world’s largest university-based credit union, offers a full range of personal — and business-related — financial services to Michigan State University and Oakland University faculty, staff, students, alumni association members, and their families worldwide in addition to a variety of select employee groups. Founded in 1937 by a few MSU professors and employees, MSUFCU has 15 branches, over 208,000 members, more than $3 billion in assets, and over 650 employees.
