OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. — On Tuesday, November 29, 2016, MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) celebrated the grand opening of its Clarkston and Ortonville branches. The MSUFCU Board of Directors, alongside employees, welcomed community members to a ribbon-cutting ceremony and reception.

The grand openings mark continuous growth for the Credit Union. The new branches greatly increase member access to the Credit Union, and help to further develop relationships with community members in Oakland County. The branches were acquired in March 2016, as part of a merger with Clarkston Brandon Community Credit Union (CBCCU). The Clarkston Branch is located at 8055 Ortonville Road, while the Ortonville Branch is located at 4 South Street.

In celebration of the grand opening, the Credit Union is offering specials on auto loans, credit cards, checking accounts, and Certificates until December 31, 2016. Visit www.msufcu.org for complete details regarding these specials.

“The branches in Clarkston and Ortonville allow us to further fulfill the credit union philosophy of ‘people helping people,’” said April Clobes, MSUFCU’s President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). “We support the communities where our branches are located through charitable giving and by offering a variety of products and services that help community members achieve financial success, their goals, and ultimately, their dreams.”

MSU Federal Credit Union, the world’s largest university-based credit union, offers a full range of personal — and business-related — financial services to Michigan State University and Oakland University faculty, staff, students, alumni, and their families worldwide, in addition to a variety of select employee groups. Founded in 1937 by MSU professors, MSUFCU has 17 branches, nearly 230,000 members, more than $3.3 billion in assets, and over 730 employees. In 2016, MSUFCU was recognized as the #1 Top Workplace in the large employer category by the Detroit Free Press, as well as one of Fortune’s 50 Best Workplaces for New College Grads. Also in 2016, MSUFCU was selected as one of West Michigan’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For, receiving the Michigan Business Professional Association’s top honor of Elite Overall – Best of the Best award. MSUFCU has a national reputation for excellence, and was recognized in 2016 as fifth in the nation for its financial education program by the National Youth Involvement Board.
