EAST LANSING, Mich. – MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) is pleased to announce that it has been recognized by the Capital Area United Way (CAUW) for the 2016 Company Volunteer of the Year award. Each year, CAUW recognizes a company that consistently and effectively encourages its employees to volunteer their time and talent in local communities. MSUFCU was recognized for its support of volunteerism and substantial impact on several nonprofit organizations throughout the year.

During 2016, MSUFCU employees raised over $194,000 for the CAUW and Small Talk Children’s Assessment Center, which helps heal and empower children who are victims of physical and sexual abuse. Employees also volunteered over 900 hours of time to help local organizations ranging from Volunteers of America and Capital Area Humane Society, to Girl Scouts and Junior Achievement.

“One of MSUFCU’s core values is giving back to the community, and we are excited to encourage our employees to volunteer and donate to local nonprofits,” said April Clobes, MSUFCU’s President/CEO. “Each year the number of individuals we employ grows, allowing us to expand the time and resources we contribute. Our employees enjoy giving back and strengthening our community by helping families and individuals receive basic needs, help students achieve success in many areas, and ensuring families are secure, happy, and healthy.”
