MSUFCU Response to Recent Executive Orders
Over the last month or so, several Executive Orders, policy changes, and regulatory agency updates have been implemented by the new U.S. Federal administration. We understand there may be concerns about how these impact MSUFCU or your accounts with us and want to reassure you that we are closely monitoring all legislative and regulatory developments.

At this time, MSUFCU is not required to make any changes impacting your service experience or your information security as a result of the Executive Orders and regulatory agency changes. There have also been no changes to NCUA share insurance coverage, and MSUFCU systems and your accounts with MSUFCU remain secure.
Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)
An Executive Order issued January 20, 2025, established the DOGE to modernize Federal technology and software to maximize government efficiency and productivity. News outlets recently reported that the DOGE may have gained access to IRS/Treasure Department systems. Please know that MSUFCU only shares information with the IRS as required by federal regulations. MSUFCU systems and your accounts with MSUFCU remain secure.
National Credit Union Administration (NCUA)
The NCUA was created in 1970 and is the federal organization that insures deposits at federally insured credit unions, protects the members who own credit unions, and regulates federal credit unions. The NCUA is subject to federal oversight. There have been no changes to NCUA insurance coverage. As such, funds on deposit at MSUFCU remain insured by the NCUA.
Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)
The CFPB was created in 2011 to implement and enforce Federal consumer financial law and ensure that markets for consumer financial products are transparent, fair, and competitive. MSUFCU is not directly impacted by the recent CFPB operational changes. Consumer compliance requirements relevant to MSUFCU continue to be enforced by the NCUA, state attorneys general, and other regulatory agencies. Congressional action would be required to modify or dissolve the CFPB.
